HISTORY OF THE ISSUE

Here are some examples of the past and what the school district has done to the system to either worsen or try to fix the problem.

In April of 2011 there were many moms who were having similar feelings about the foods that their children were eating. So they took action! They send out petitions and were able to get the attention of people high up in the school district and even got menu changes! They were also on the Channel 6 news. In 2008 The Philadelphia Notebook, brought up the cold truth about most of the food in public schools. Parents were even getting complaints from their children about head and stomachaches. Soon enough there was a huge federal recall from the beef delivered to the school district.
